What are the consiquences of having too high of a salt content in the pickle?And how high is too high?

The cosequencies are that too much salt - if not removed - will cause "weeping" in the finished skin. It will actually draw atmospheric water from the air and begin to accumulate moisture that appears to be weeping!

If you use a Salinometer the usual reading should be 40-43%
