good evening all ive been wondering where on a bird skin you would begin after mounting to adjust taxi in what direction head to tail in what order any answer,s to this question i would be gratefull

Daniel.
I don't taxi the skin in any particular order but first get the basic parts in place. With pins anchor the base of the wings to the form. Position the tail properly and the skin at the tops of the legs. These places on the bird are the easiest to place and must be correct to make a decent job. Adjust the head and neck skin and work the back area paying close attention to color markings. Use good reference photos. Especially note proper wing set. Common mistakes on birds are twisted feathers or misaligned patterns. To get good results be certain the form you use is not larger than the body you skinned--many duck bodies are larger than the duck on your skinning table. Compare some fresh skinned birds and you will see what I mean. Enjoy, Aaron H.
