I've been in a bit of an art funk recently [and still haven't finished the kingfisher I posted eons ago here]... but sketching fish is relieving and helping me through it.
The first is a bluegill, digitally 'painted' in about 15 minutes, the second is another "speedpainting", this time of a muskie [I realized the misplacement of the dorsal fin after I had saved it, of course] called, titled "Breakfast is Served".  Enjoy!

I like it.  There's and interesting life to your paintings.  Smiley  The first one is my favorite.  He makes me think of a stodgy old fellow about to say something profound.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, both of you Smiley
I do think I like the bluegill a bit more, since the colours are so vibrant and there's a bit more depth to it Smiley  I actually did that one for practise since I have another painting of a beaver pond scene that I will be working on and I put a bluegill in it to sorta fill out some space and make the composition a little more interesting Smiley   When I have that one finished, I'll try to remember to get it posted!

Thank you Smiley  I'm currently working on a 16x20" painting of a beaver and pond scene to be given to a local nature center.  Here's a sneak peek at what I have done so far -

Looks good- you've got talent- your picture kinda "speak" like Terri said- you can almost picture their thoughts.  Great expressions!

Thanks so much, Sarah, Terri, everyone Smiley  Here's another update on the beaver pond Smiley  I apologise for the blurryness of the full photo, my camera's battery was on its way out :/  but the closeup came out a little better [though shiny since the paint was still wet!]

Very nice art!  Your fish come out very nice. Have you ever tried drawing a parrotfish? I have 5 of them...interesting critters, they are. Smiley They may be a fun variety to draw, if you ever need ideas.

Snow - thanks!  I have never tried.. I usually don't draw fish very often, if at all.  Thanks for the suggestion though, fish are so much fun Smiley

You have your own distinctive style, I like it.  Smiley

Yup, your style is very distinctive, and I like it, too.
