For the Newbie just getting going, (or anyone for that matter) and your thinking about Whitetail Shoulder Mounts seriously consider this DVD. I say this as someone who has invested considerable cash in reference materials and one on one training. The quality of this DVD is simply light years ahead of the rest. (and I have them as well) The picture quality, close ups and production are first rate.

What helps is the fact it starts with the incoming deer head and begins with the inspection and skinning process. If you can get a grip here, you'll save yourself a lot of grief and 'repair' work during the latter stages.

Rick tans using Krowtann. I'm not familiar with it, but he mentions alternatives. Overall very informative especially the finishing section. If your looking to gain some knowledge before you attend one on one seminars or training this is definately one of the better investments.
Good luck.
Jim
PS: This is not a paid endorsement by WASCO LOL. I think credit should be given to those who put together class materials that will enhance everyones knowledge and ability. (Well knowledge at least, the ability part is up to you to hammer away at!)

It is a good DVD even though he did use Krowtann! No matter how many deer you've done it's a great reference tape!

Hey guys all of you are right this is the best dvd on whitetail deer i've saw. I bought a set of dvd's back a couple years ago it had mounting a wt,fish, bird, and squirrel a 4 dvd set. I'm not for sure who the guy was that hosted it but he did a good job of talking about mounting these animals but the dvd cut out over half of each set he was doing. After watching that i didn't know whether to s**t or go blind i was lost for sure. But this dvd didn't leave nothing out there were no questions about it's the best whitetail taxidermy video today!!!!!!!!!
