Nope mine are actually kevlar dipped in rubber, its not just dots.., but its dimpled so they dont slip.. Ill take a pic and show you guys..
Edited to add--- Also I tested the gloves by putting a piece of wood in the finger and touch my fleshing blade while it was on... Didnt even cut thru it
I was impressed..
They have lasted very well and the rubber really helps keep them from getting eat up by the tan..

It will only take a few more battle scares and you will get to where you don't cut yourself at all just don't be in a hurry and don't take to big of a piece be patient it will come but by all means where the gloves until then good luck and welcome

back when i fleshed my own hides I only got one good cut but it was a dandy. shaved the whole end of my finger off including the finger nail. Now i send out raw capes and they come back to me wet tanned and 15 minutes of prep work and then ears and i'm mounting. Using a wholesale skinner is WELL worth the money in my opinion.

Grab the hide with your thumbs up when you are working the hide across the wheel. Also try setting the guards out a little further, less wheel exposed.
