I use a Van dykes "model s" but would recommend the "model a" if you have a little more room. Works great. Real solid,no wobble. I also use wall adaptors to bounce deer back 'n forth as needed without having to remove the mount. If you build one It'll cost you more than buying one unless you happen to have a pile of metal tubing. Metal is through the roof!

Thats one you wont regret . Ive got the floor modle and I made a board that fits on top with holes in it at differant spaces to do life size.. order some extra parts that go into the stand that you attach the heads to . also have 3 of the bench stands and they are great also . you can make them pivot in all kinds of directions. mark c

I made one a few years ago and used some old leaf springs to form a "T" for the base. Really stable and cheap!

I made one out of 2 inch tubing and it is adjustable and swivels in all directions. I looked at the ones in a catalog for over $100 and made my own for under $40 and it works great

I like my VanDyke's Model A. Like others said, it is sturdy and really easy to use. When doing game heads, you can turn them in all directions to make working on them really easy. You won't regret that purchase.
