Is it better to brush on PVA or spray on? Or does it matter? I've read both ways. Thanks

I prefer to spray as it gets a more even coat with less chance of a bristle from a brush coming loose.
but in a pinch Ill brush it.

If you do use your airbrush, just run some hot soapy water through it after and it will be fine.

Travis , I always use a brush , its easier then having to start the compressor plus you don't have to breath the fumes. You don't want PVA in your lungs . Plus it only takes a second to remove a loose brush bristle from the mold. Rick

Yeah your right. I guess a fresh coat of release in your lungs wouldn't be to healthy.
Thanks Rick

Also depends on the surface you are looking for.
PVA is remarkably consistent in preserving the gloss or satin finish of the part; in other words, it produces whatever the surface was to start with - if you spray it. Brushing leaves it lumpier by virtue of the bristles.
Retarding with a little hot water (say about one quarter by volume) will make it go farther as well as release it to get really glossy as it dries.
Keep the hair dryer going and it is ready to go in no time.
