It looks like I may be getting a moose to do. I'm not really sure what to charge. How much do you all charge?
I don't want to shoot myself in the foot considering the cost of tanning, materials, etc.

$1200 for the mount, then extra if they need detachable antlers or any other special request. If you haven't done a moose before I would suggest a commercial tan too.

LOL I've contacted a good tannery. I'm not crazy Cheesy Cheesy
I was thinking $1000 but I checked some of the other taxidermists in my state and prices varied from $550 to $850. I personally thought those were low priced.

Redwolf, they're not low priced.  They're low brained. After prepping, supplies, tanning, and shipping, you're at $600 in costs. Then to think about mounting one for -$50 or $250 profit....... Don't think so.  I'm $1400.

I've gone to $1900 for a shoulder mount.  That includes one detachable antler.  These are not an easy chore.  If you need any help PM me and I'll give you my #.

I'll be OK mounting it I just wasn't sure on the price. Like I said I thought the prices I saw from other taxidermists in my state was too low, and there is NO WAY I'm doing that much work for $550 or even $850 total.
But thanks for the offer.

I picked up the Hawkeye Sporting newspaper in New Hampshire sunday. There's a  big ad for a taxidermist in Unity, NH , moose shoulder mounts 600.00 , also deer full shoulder 275.00.  Take the Moose in for 12-15 hundred and wholesale to Unity and make alot of profit for the ride to Unity and back. You can't beat that deal with a stick.
