Apoxie Sculpt removal
«

A guy sent me a huge Mule deer european mount. Beautiful white skull. But the tines are all chewed off. He wants the tines repaired. The problem is. The Taxi. that did the work just globbed apoxie sculpt on the end of each tine. I need to remove it to do a proper job.
Does that remover they sell work. Or should I just grind it off.
Thanx Kevin M.

Sometimes a couple taps with a hammer will knock it off at the seam of the horn and apoxie, if not I would just grind it.

I have had some come it like that and I used what was there when I could. I take a dremel and sand them down to size and shape, then come in and sculpt in some detail. I only do this if they are secured properly with wire or all thread. If they are just slapped on there, I bust them off with a hammer and start all over.
