...Unless it's a REALLY BIG deer. Then, everything might be 10-15% BIGGER than what I'm use to looking at. That's why I'm curious as to what it officially scored/net...

Yep, 300 live weight, 25 inch spread base 7+ look at girth g2_g3   9"+   also on g3-g4   9"+
Mannakin cape 25 below ears, 29 3" down
Client has sheet it is over 175, I think 179
Tines are a heck of a lot longer than they look, size of deer takes away from rack
It's on a 88-7324 and we cut it down the middle after taking head off and added an inch on the seam line, realy adding two inches to the circumference, also added 1/4 to nose, making it a 8 by 24 by 26 by 28 1/2, also increased depth of head tapering from the nose to base of jaw by a 3/4 of an inch.

Cool! Thanks for the hard numbers. I knew it was girthy, but the spread really tells it all. A normal deer, that's (only) a 20-21 inch spread. But given the fact that head is the size of an elephant, it really puts things in perspective. Must've been fun getting that thing out've the woods!!!

it was said earlier but bears repeating, don't ship between thanksgiving and new years.  Best of luck with your unfortunate situation.  There's a ton of tricks for shipping stuff, you need to learn the system to cash in on them, or in my case, work in it for a couple of years.

I work part time for FedEx (no I haven't seen your crate) and I agree things are stolen from time to time, however, I think it would be difficult to sneak out of there w/ a 120 lb. wooden crate that measures 160". It sounds to me like what seems most probable is a label was attached to the outside of the crate and fell off. When I ship something I write w/ a Sharpie the address on the outside of the crate, as well as having my info on the inside of the crate/box as well. The value of many items I deliver FAR exceed the value of this mount, and would be much smaller (and easier to steal) should a dishonest employee decide he wanted to take something. I also think it would be HIGHLY unlikely that if your package was taken, that it was taken by a driver. It would almost have to be a package handler at a terminal or hub. When we get in our truck to deliver, every package has been scanned to our truck, and should it dissapear we as drivers better know where they have gone. Good luck with finding your mount, which by the way looks great.

Have you talked to the client?   It is time to start damage control-  break out the wallet and find a rack and cape and put together another deer.   Your work looks great so it may not be the same deer but it could very well be its twin.  stuff like this happens,  and it will always be the worst time, place or item.
