Quick question. Where can I find the grey necking material (foam) in a size between .75" and 1". I bought a ton of it years ago from I believe Dixieland Taxidermy supply company but they have closed down. I can't find that diameter in any of the regular supply catalogs......Thanks.

I'm not promising they'll have it, but it is definitely worth your while to look in the weather-stripping area of the hardware section at Lowe's.  I've found it there before, but not all of them have it.

Correction: Dixieland Taxidermy Supply Co., 410-Caney valley Loop, Surgoinsville, TN 37873  has not closed up. In fact quite the contrary they are doing extremely well. Willis Huston had sold the company to Daryl Johnson several years ago. Both men are personal friends of mine and I have no doubt of Daryl's commitment to service for our industry.
Incidentally, Dixieland has the molds for an exceptional medium size bison shoulder form modeled by James L. Clark and a half charging black bear by Louis Paul Jonas that no on else has. Call them for more details or for any other questions you may have about Dixielands product line.

Thanks for the info. I did a search for them but no websites listed were good....I will give them a call.

All VanDykes has is .75 or 1". I was wanting something in between if possible.

If you have a concrete/masonry supply type place close by, they will have miles of that backer rod. And they should have every size available.
