I have caught dozens of smallmouth in the 5 pound class but only one over 6 pounds.  Here is my personal best smallmouth from Lake Erie.
Wish I had more pics to share.  Looks like I need to work less and fish more.

here was a good day on the Allegheny River couple yrs ago. sorry for the quality it was a scan of a copy of a pic.
we caught a boat load .only 1 was 15" the rest were 18" or larger with the biggest 25" i believe (been a while) we kept 12 walleyes that weighed 36 lbs. .the livewell was so packed we gave up trying to cull up and just released them till we ran out of time.

Hi all

Just to show we do get some decent sized bass here in South Africa

And why do crocodiles stay out of the water in Africa

The pictures have been great…..I never get tired of looking or taking fish pictures.  Here’s some of mine from this year….which actually began in March in Mexico.  A few largemouth bass from El Salto Lake:

Added a few new species in the salt:

Black snapper:

Panama grunt:

Tiny weenie yellow snapper:

Spotted cabrilla:

Pacific jack crevalle:

Early May gave rise to great rainbow fishing:

Late May I was surprised with this nearly 40 lbs Chinook salmon while fishing for trout with my 5wt rod and 10 lbs test….couldn’t believe I actually landed her:

Managed all 5 species of Pacific salmon this year….

Kenai River pink:

Montana Creek coho and chum salmon:

Last but not least, Kenai River sockeye:

Had this beautiful grayling hit a 5 inch sculpin…..must have been really hungry:

More trout followed through June and July:

Stumbled into another nice king while wading through the trout:

Caught a picture of the famous Alaskan “walking” trout:

And his cousin the “walking” dolly:

While visiting the parental units in Montana in July…happened into some Missouri River brown trout:

August into September always becomes a dollyfest up here:

My fishing ended in mid-September when my father (who is 76) came up with some friends for 5 days of fishing…even though the water was very high and the weather primarily sucked eggs we caught some nice fish:

After letting the boys off at the airport I made one last stop on Quartz Creek for a few more dollies before calling it for the year up here:

With this last beautiful fish I packed it up and went home:

BUT….I did spend the last week in October in southern Quebec fishing for musky…..the weather turned horrid and the water colored up and we only managed a few small skies.  But I did go smallmouth bass fishing for a few days and had an unbelievable time catching 30-40 of the beasts each day….most from 3-6 lbs…what a hoot:

Was hard convincing the guides I just came “down” to Quebec for the suntan….after all it did get up to nearly 40 on this day:

I have a problem with fish pictures……that is why my inlaws call me the Fish Whisperer.

i'll start with most recent.

pike through the ice.  they are an invasive species here, so there is no limit, and it is illegal to release a landed pike.

my first, and biggest to date arctic char

kenai river dolly

live action release shot of a kenai rainbow

kenai river silvers.  we were staying at the russian river campground almost by ourselves, and catching 50-100 trout and dollies a day, and catching our limit of silvers in less than an hour

my buddy kip with an anchor river steelie

anchor steel

big anchor river silver on a 10'8 6wt switch rod.

i tried explaining to my wife that steelhead fishing for most people is not as easy as it was for her.  i was showing her how to mend her line and dead drift for steelhead, and on cast number 3 she got her first steelhead.  she said that it was fun, but wasn't much of a challenge, so now she doesn't understand why i want to fish them so badly.

heres a bunch of rainbows and dollies mostly off the russian river or kenai

my landing net is around 27 inches long.  i would have loved to get an actual tape on her.

steelhead again

i love this picture

wicked colors on this sea run dolly

yummy beer
