I use it all the time, and have had great success with it on deer capes. i only use it on deer capes or bigger animals though. i have used it on animals
such as squirrells, coyotes, foxes and have found out that it usually doesn't work for me on those animals because i get alot of slippage i can't speak
for anyone else thats just my experience i think the acidity in the tan cream effects the animals that have thinner hides.
But if you are going to use it on deer capes i would highly recommend it.

I have used it, JRTS is what it is commonly referred to, and I like it a lot. It is quick and easy. Produces good results.

Hmm would this be a process like krowtann, but brush-on....interesting...does this stuff have a sassafrass smell to it? I used something years ago called DixieTan which was a brush on on a deer hide and it came out bone white and sweet smelling.
Just out of curiosity...who carries it?

There is a new brush on that I have tried and like. It is produced by Pro-1 Technologies. So far what I have used it on has worked quite well. They have a complete line of tanning products in their catalog. You can get info at 866-984-7761 if interested.

I use it, thanks to George, and I won't go back to sending the capes out, waiting 4 months and having them come back full of holes. I have also used DP, but the JRTS is much better.

I actually went to the American School of Taxidermy. The owner and head instructor is Dennis Rinehart (big brother to John and Uncle to Dan) and the brush on tan was the only way I knew how to tan, he never even opted to show us another way. For small animals I agree this method will cause more damage than good. But for deer, hog, bear, elk, caribou, and bisonm I have never had one bit of trouble. Through time and experiance I have tryed a lot of different "tanning" methods. Sending them out is still easyest, but next to that brush on is the second choice. I get decent stretch, good plyability, and average shrinkage. Its best when used with the tanning oil. But that's just one "Joes" opinion.. LOL

I have heard allot of good stuff about the McKenzie tan, I use the Liqua tan on hogs and EZ 100 for the rest.. I just ordered some Lutan F and am going to try that once and see how I like it.. I love the EZ 100 for all the small animals.. Mix it up and drop them in after neutralizing, I would use the liqa tan on small stuff but am scared I might mis a spot..
