I give $50 - $75 off a euro which is 185.00 or credit towards other work or a free horn mount for the cape.

if they dont say anything neither do i, you know if they didnt say they wanted it, it was going to go in the trash, so why not just take it, you will always need an extra cape

Ouch.  Hurt me just looking at that thing split all the way.  I wonder what it'll take for some hunters to learn/remember NOT TO DO THAT!  Roll Eyes  Sheesh.

Usually the first cape/hide that someone here brings into sell has something wrong... Either they cut the throat, split the brisket, cut it up the whole neck or they bring me a flat..... Then I tell them the cape that was worth $30, $40, $50 or more is now a $3-$10 flat hide their whole expression just sinks..... Lets just say they listen very well when I tell them how to cape something out and next time the capes are always BEAUTIFUL. Very quick learners.

I'm sewing the armpits/brisket on a blackbuck the other day that just couldn't be taxied over the edge without sewing (& you know with that short hair somethings going to show).  My wife walks in and asks how's it going, I replied - if anybody calls be a WT shoulder mount tell them that it's $475 and an extra $1000 if they cut the brisket and explain to them that's $100 for the extra sewing and $900 for being stupid.

I hate to see any capes go to waste. What's really been working this year is offering a credit for the cape towards a euro or antler mount. I had a nice Texas hill country buck come it for a euro, and it was cut off at the neck. I was sick, great color on those texas deer. Getting the word out for the credit is key.

Matt got plentyof them If you ever need one. Tanned and raw ones. South Texas is where the color in. I've stil waiting on a big black faced double throat patch early season South Texas cape for comp piece. They dont get any better than that.
