Cleaning 40 year old mount

Can anyone suggest products for cleaning a 40 year old whitetail shoulder mount?

It's tough to comment on this thread since there isn't a picture to show the degree of work needed. However, I assume that it is household dirty. For that I would make a soapy "Dawn" type solution and using a soft sponge or cheesecloth rag soaked with this solution, I would wipe the mount going with the grain of the hair with a fairly wet amount of soapy water. Let it stand for two or three minutes then wipe again. Keep doing this until clean but not enough to wet the leather. Do the same for the antlers. You can clean the eyes with a "Q-Tip" soaked with Iso-propyl alcohol. Hope this helps....JL

Thanks JL for the suggestion. Any thoughts on some of the taxidermy supply houses cleaning "sprays"?

I've never used any of them, but I'm sure some of them would work......but why buy the same thing in a can that you can make yourself?
