Getting better with age :)

« on: November 13, 2008, 03:38:34 AM »

I didn't want to hijack "bw's" post so I figured i'd share also my first try on the Jody Green form that I just finished a few minutes ago.  Seriously & honestly I was 50/50 on whether I liked it or not, it's got its good points & its bad points.....but customers absolutely LOVE IT!!  I have already had 5 requests for this form from clients who saw it drying on the wall when they brought in their own mount.

Like many, I sometimes try to sell to clients ideas of forms I like mounting on Wink LOL  This form sold itself.  The 2 single things that customers have liked & commented the most on it about is the nose & how even though the form is turned, it's still basically a straight.  By that I mean it's so offset that even though it is a left turn, the head is coming almost straight forward after the turn.

The best way to describe it was said by one client........."it's a straight on mount with a lot of character" LOL

Trying to keep my feet on track
Doin' what was expected of me
Kick my shoes off so they can't trace me
 Leave no forwarding address
Before they all drive me crazy
And I leave 'em all in a bloody mess

I agree with everything you said 100%.  Just like most every form I have ever used, it does have good points and bad points.  I am not really a big fan of most of Denny Behns forms through McKenzie....but some customers insist on having a McKenzie.  Sinch I like more aspects of Jodys form...it will give me something to steer them toward.

I am also guilty of trying to reccomend customers use a particular form that I like.  It just makes our job easier when we don't have to try and learn the nuances of a form we never use.

i just finished  1 and had 2 customers pick it for what they wanted for theirs after they seen it. i think seeing it  helps them know more about it then picking one out of a catalog

it's what you learn after you know it all that makes the difference.
