Good question! I'm starting to do Euro mounts as well, and do not want the bugs gettin back to the house where my Deer/Elk mounts are. Can someone with more experience please advise. I thought I read on here that if the skull and antlers are froze for 2 or 3 days, it kills everything (beetles, eggs, fly eggs/soon to be maggots/ etc.

I had a skull soak in some waterfor a couple hours. Took it out to dry and later a couple beetles climbing around. Air pockets were the liquid did not get to the beetles and they crawled out is what I am thinking

Ya my Dad is right when i put the skull in the rubbing alcohol the beetles are killed almost on contact, a very efficient way to get them out.

use a small propane torch on the skull cap-it also helps burn grease out of it and i also throw the antlers for a couple days in the freezer will kill everything else
