Pheasant Repair help
«

Hey Everyone-
A recently had a pheasant display that was damaged in transit of shipping.
The head/neck is bent down and as a result the skin at the base of the neck was torn open.
The feathers (tail and wings) are ruffled and I think should be able to be smoothed.
I need to know thoughts on if/how this could be repaired and how much it would cost
or if it would be easier to just do a new bird replacement.
Any help/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You!
A few photos (the one is before the damage)...

The ruffled feathers can easily be zipped back up by dipping them (the feathers, not the whole bird) in boiling water and blow drying. As for the broken skin. I would take a wet paper towel or sponge and stuff it into the area. maybe put a baggie over it's head.. Let that skin rehydrate, which should happen in a few hours if not quicker.. then paint the inside of the skin with water and get it really rehydrated.. Then you should be able to put a couple stiches in and call it done.
