I have been doing taxidermy for 2 years now.  First year was just as a hobby, doing family, friends, and my own animals.  This is the first year I am going to do it part-time.  Maybe someday I will get enough business to go full-time.

Definitely FULL TIME. Had to hold down another part time job for nearly five years before I got enough nerves to quit and do the taxidermy full time. I have never regretted the move. I made a lot more money in my part time job, but money just can't buy you happiness. Taxidermy makes me happy, and there is nothing in the world that beats being your own boss. I don't think I could ever work for someone else again. Smiley

And exactly what thing would that be? Grin I don't have a clue, I never watched the show, but now I'm curious. Wink

I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post pics - plus I don't know what the legal ramifications are of pulling one off the internet. But there are gaggles of pics on the internet - just do a search of "Jenna Elfman". I think you two have very similar facial features...

Dont know what i call myself. Part time i guess.
My workshop is attached to the house and i am in there when ever i can, i still have a daughter yet to go to school so she takes up alot of time, but then i also do the odd security stint to pay for extra 'goodies' and to get out of the place.

I guess you could say part-timers because we both have jobs but I think we are in the shop more then 40 hrs. a week. We are like alot of folks been at our 'real' jobs to long to much money to past up and retirement is just over the hill. We still have three kids in college and are supporting them. Maybe Dwayne will quit when the last one is out and on her own.

I am not for sure.  Let see, I get up every morning and go teach zoology at a public high school until 3:30.  I come home, get in the shop at 4:30 and stay till 10:00.  On weekends, I spend about 10 hours a day in the shop.  In the summer, I spend about 10 hours a day everyday for 3 months in the shop.  I am not for sure which one is my full time job.  I know without either job, my family doesn't live the way they do.  So, I pretty much teach and do taxidermy full time.  Now, since I am my own boss at the taxidermy end, I take off whenever needed to pursue the finer things in life, like my family and hunting whitetails.  Good thread.

I am a hobbyist. Life and Fish Taxidermy have never been about money. This will last as long as my wife's patience on my spending. At some point she might want to see it support itself.
