Good idea to put this in the tutorial category, cyclone.  We had a really indepth thread on the subject once upon a time in the old forum, I tried finding it awhile back to bring it back up, but struck out.

With the way beginners like to be self sufficient, maybe they would be better served if you described the Solvay Process to them so they could make their own instead of buying all those little boxes at the grocery store.

My gut feeling is that Uncle Ron has been making his own sodium bicarbonate all his life.  You would think he would come clean and tell everyone as to how he has been doing that.

Sumptin seems to be giving him gas...

Maybe we'll give it a bump every day...forever...

Not likely to be as popular as that "Who's Who" thread though.. Wink

A classic quote from taxidermy.net forums.

Taxidermists love to dump chemicals together without knowing what the heck will happen..

You new people, be thinking of that quote when you call a supplier up to complain about the problems you are having with their tanning products.  They already know what you have done, so you may as well confess right up front.

Don't forget to pull your hide from the pickle before adding baking soda!

why should you remove the hide before adding? Is it just in case it raises the pH to much, or is there another reason?
