Tohickon snake eyes are what I use most of the time on common snakes such as Eastern and Western diamondbacks, canebrakes and timbers. Don't always go by what they list in the catalog as being the right color for your specie! For example, I use Tohickon western diamondback eyes in all our canebrakes down here because it matches their eyes better than the available timber rattlesnake eye. Also if you mount Eastern diamondbacks you'll notice they have a very dark brown eye which is all but impossible to get from the supply houses. These I order direct from Tohickon. Van Dykes has a neat little selection of various colored snake eyes too that shouldn't be overlooked. Their "poppy" color makes excellent copperhead eyes for the ones in our region. Also the "dark chestnut" color makes an acceptable Eastern diamondback eye.
