Alligator size
«

I am going to use a replica alligator head in a habitat. The heads available are 7 or 13 inches in length. Approx. how long would the gators be with that size head. I want to simulate one that would be large enough to tackle a rabbit size prey. Thanks

Every inch between the nostril bump and the eye bumb ususally represents a foot in total length.
3 inches from the eyes to the nostrils = a 3 foot gator
7 inches from the eyes to the nostrils = a 7 foot gator
Don't know what the eye to nostril length is on those repo heads. Their measurements are likely total length.
A 4 or 5 foot gator could handle a cottontail size rabbit with no trouble, but they do tend to take smaller prey.
I don't know if any of this applies to crocs or caimans
Good luck and post some pictures.

PS: How long does it take a baby alligator to get four feet? They have four feet when they hatch!
How long does it take a baby rattlesnake to get four feet? They will never have feet, they're snakes!
As for that rabbit, What do you have if you have 10 rabbits standing side by side, marching backwards? A receeding hare line!

Go with the 13 inch. It removes a lot of questions
