Has anyone tried wrapping antlers with something while submerging the skull in 12.5% peroxide? I know that people have put paper towel over the top of the skull so the peroxide could wick up the paper towel. Just wondering if anyone has tried this way and if so could you share what you used to wrap them? Thanks for any ideas.

I want to avoid having to stain the antlers. Dosent seem natural to me. There has to be somrthing out there that can withstand the 12.5% peroxide.

Hot Hot water should remove wax. Just have to bag skull and tape around Pedicals before doing this.

to me it does not matter WHAT you wrap the antlers with, it WILL seep up into the wrapping and still whiten the anlters!!!

I wonder if paint on latex would work? I would peel off easy but would it stand up to peroxide?

do the wicking here, don't have problems with it whitening the antlers, just have to be careful where you wick, and not to touch the antlers with it

I use the towel over the crown method, but your always going to have to touch up the antlers a little.

Put the paper towel / white rag on the top of the skull and wrap up to just under the burrs. It's easy and it works. No silliness with wrapping, painting or slathering with latex just to peel it all off. Put the skull in and you;re done in 24 hours or less with the 27% stuff.
