hey nutty professor, Doug, I think is mistaken, you are right on the rebound price, I think Doug quoted the price of the liquid plastic he pours into the rebound molds. The 300 or 310. You can do an average rack with one of the pint kits of rebound.

Ok, I screwed up on the price. I got the smoothcast price mixed up with the rebound price.
The price you list is correct. If you brush it on. The gallon kit will make several sets of repro's. You have to get paid to do it or bite the bullet on the price.

You can use cheap silicone in tubes it does not hold up as long as good silicone. I mold fish heads with it alot. No seperator is needed on fish but is with horns. I forget the name of the seperator Maybee sin lube 531 or somthing like that. When using cheap silicone $1-$2 a tube squirt it in a container then mix in Xylen $16.00 a gallon Lowes) its a paint solvent but its the only kind i found to work. Mix in the Xylene intill its thinned to a "hair gel consistancy" Then tool it on. Works good for quick casting antler pieces , one piece fish head molds with mouth plug, reptiles, bird legs ect. However if you want say more than a dozen or 2 good casts go with the more expensive stuff. Also Im not sure but it seems to age more rapidly and the mold loses its stretch quicker.

The clear silicon acts just like what you said, but try the colored silicon caulk Dan. It stays more flexable and will cast up a lot more molds than the clear will.
I found that out when I bought them by accident when I was making a mold of a few duck heads and a salamander.
