I made these for a young aspiring boy who is doing a squirrel and thought they may help someone else.

Hidden stitch is alway puckering the skin much like the baseball stitch.  I'll stick with the whip stitch.  GREAT TUTORIAL

All you need now is the knot tying, with everyone using fireline, spiderwire etc. I think the knots are sometimes more important than the stitch. LOL.

you only get that puckering affect if you do the stitches to far apart, i dont get it, but to each his own

With the baseball stitch exit as close to the edge of the hair side as possible and make stitches no more that 1/4" apart to eliminate puckers.
