I used to keep it in the garage and it got down to about 15 above zero. It seemed like it took longer to loosen up the deerp grease. I have a couple stainless steel turkey pots with lids that I keep in my basement and degrease through the winter until it warms up. I use duct or painters tape to seal off the rim of the lid to prevent the acetone from evaporating. Good Luck

In my experience the Acetone doesn't work as well with the cooler weather. I keep my acetone in an unheated shop which slows down the final degreasing especially in the winter months but on the other hand it's not as volatile either. It takes at little longer but still does the job.

You don't degrease well in cold water because the grease gels up or hardens.

If the acetone is cold what temperature will the grease be in the bone?

Because of it's rapid rate of evaporation acetone seems to feel extra cold when you dip your finger in, so my answer RD is the grease must be really @#$%@% cold. Grin The acetone still seems to dissolve the grease eventually though, usually one more degrease bath after the acetone and it's done.

I hate to have to use it too and just don't feel comfortable with it in the shop. Thinking about going back to ammonium hydroxide.

Yeah it works slower in Cold weather but it still works.  What normally takes a month in 90 - 100 degree temps takes 2 months in the wincer 20 degees.  It will work you just need to be patient.

I have used Dawn to degrease and that doesn't work worth a flip, IMO.  I've had whitetail skulls in it for a month and still had grease.  Maybe i am not getting the water hot enough with my tank heater.  I usually keep it at 90 degrees.

I've found Dawn works better combined with household ammonia.

The only difference I noticed is I glued a lot more teeth when I used anything with ammonia.
