OK - so here's what I see as three ways to make the most of your artificial rock bases etc using Quik-Rock - Ready...

1. Keep the wooden base structure or platform smaller than your used to around the animals hoofs etc. (where the rods are anchored to the base.) Quick Rock will add a lot of extra dimension just by the nature of it. This also cuts down costs using it and I think looks better. The emphasis is supposed to be on the animal and the  base compliments the whole scene.

2. Avoid what I call the "Dog House" look I've seen out there. This stuff is great for being creative. Put angles to it - 45 or 90 degree areas screwed together really jazz up the look. I think guys get a little too afraid to do seaming so they make it look too boxy - hey just cut the rock in smaller pieces and give the base some angles. Your all artists -

3. Oh - one other thing! Be sure to step back from  what your working on once in a while and view it from many angles. It's easy to get "caught up" building and being up close to the structure - missing what it may look like from a distance.

These tips should help you improve the use of Quik-Rock and save money on material too.
