I'm an amatuer taxidermist and am seriously thinking about going to taxidermy school to refine my skills.   I've been looking at the Trail's End Taxidermy School in Rice, MN, and I am wondering if anyone has been there and can provide a recommendation.  Any there any other schools I should consider in Minnesota (close to Twin Cities)?

I went to Trail End about 4 years ago. John is a great guy to work with and I think that he did a good job on teaching the basics. You have to realize that it is a foundation and you continue to learn from there.

I also attended Trails End School of Taxidermy in Rice, MN in the spring of 2007.  Great experience and learned alot.  John is a great guy and will educate you well in taxidermy. He brings in instructors that are very experienced in deer, birds, small game, and fish. Great people and a very friendly atmosphere, i still keep in touch with my classmates from Trails End

I am taking the on line classes from American Institute of taxidermy and I love them. I don't have to be away from my family and I have a week to complete each section of the class. There is no pressure and it works out for my situation. you might check into them. But I have learned more on this sight with all the expert advice and friendly people here. Everything you need to know is right here..

I attended Stoney Hills (about 20 miles north of Little Falls) a year ago.  Small class, lots of one on one, excellent instructors, excellent course overall.

I attended John Rinehart's school last year and loved it. Great teacher, small class and learned a lot. Here's the link, check it out.

If you are willing to go to Wisconsin you should really go to American Institute of Taxidermy. I went there and was very pleased. I enjoyed my classes very much. If you are interested the website for the school is www.americantaxidermy.com.

Most schools is not going to refine your skills.. schools only teach basics and very poorly in most cases..

One school that will really help you is  http://www.secondcreation.com/  Cindy competes and is active in the Kansas Assoc.  She knows what it takes to get you above the normal schools way above them..

If you are looking to make huge strides one on one workshops with award winning taxidermist are the places you need to look..... That takes you back to the link above.

When I see Obama bumper sticker, I know the academic standard has lowered!

Thought for today!
"Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack Obama does with mine."
