Oh my god Shocked. I did not know he was so anti hunting. Not only is he anti hunting, but he is so uninformed about hunters in general it is rediculous. He'll make a good PETA president. Evidently he does not have a clue as to how much money hunters generate for the TX economy each year. And part of the money goes to public schools and education. But then again if you spend half your life in a cloud of smoke from dope, what do you expect from that person. Angry

Kinky Friedman is a JOKE!  He's just another person that doesn't have anything better to do with their time or money so they try and become a politician.  Unfortunately, most public figures only speak out againsts hunting.  This is all that the general non-hunting public hears, all the bad mouthing.  Most of the time they don't even get their facts straight before opening their mouths.  God help us if he ever gets elected for anything.  If only we had more crazy bow hunters like Uncle Ted.  He speaks out more for hunters and our sport than any other public figure ever has.  And people who shoot elk from helicopters are not hunters, and it should never be considered as any form of hunting.

Texas Fish and Game has are article on the canidates this month. They are still portraying Kinky as anti-hunting, but read what is on his website: http://www.kinkyfriedman.com/2006/10/right_to_hunt_and_fish.html

Does he think that the sportsmen/women of Texas are so stupid that they would believe a tiger can change it's stripes? An anti-hunter dang sure isn't going to change his mind that damn fast. He just realized how many votes he just lost by his nonsense remarks in Texas Monthly.
