cleaning a bear rug

Hello I have a grizzly bear rug that has been in the basement for some time and i recently shook it off and found that my little dog had been urinating and defecating on it,so i was wondering if anyone out there can tell me a good way to clean it without losing to much hair.

First, using dry paper towel, run this over the surface to "dry rub" the garbage from the surface.  Next, try the spray-on "dry" shampoos they sell for dogs.  You simply spray it on the fur, wait a couple of minutes then comb and/or brush it out. 

Most likely though the urine has gone all the way through to the foam filler and cloth lining of the bottom.  There's not much more you can do after that, except maybe hang it on a line -- length-wise -- outdoors for a few nice days in a row, bringing it in each night.  The air may be able to remove the piss smell.  Good luck!

  If my dog did something like that she would become an outdoor dog!!! I hope you are able to get the smell out.
