Michael on your ear that needs to be repaired and I believe you are talking about one that's been split and it forms like into a Y formation.  If this is the case I just go ahead and slice the skin off the cartledge where the Y is made and revert that skin.  Then I take a piece of the skin off the back side of that cartilage and then just super glue gel them together.  I've done this on hundreds of ear repairs.  The skin on the back of the cartilage is 100 time stronger than any dryer sheet and it's very thin.  I use it to repair a lot of things that need repairing.  Good luck...

Best,

Just had one like that. It was split in two spots from fighting. The thing to consider is how old are the splits? The splits I fixed were fresh from that season, so easy to fix. If the split was from a year ago and is all healed up, it would most likely be better to leave it as is, and chalk it up as a conversation topic about how much of a fighter that buck was.

In my case being fresh splits, here is what I do: When I turn the ear I turn it completely, even where the splits are.
I avoid stitches due to the fact stitches can be hard to hide later. Instead use some used dryer sheets as your patch and gel super glue to glue the skin back together with the dryer sheet providing strength.

There is a little more to this process, but that's it in a nut shell.

cut the ears completely off of the deers head and then cut the ears off of a good deer head and sew them on the first deers head you cut the ears off of.  That is the easist way to fix it.
