2011 WORLD CHAMPIONS!

« on: May 12, 2009, 02:47:24 PM »

Does anyone know what the numbers for the WTC were?  How many mounts were submitted and how many people attended the show?  Does anyone know if this ended up being the largest turn out for the history of the WTC?  Larry or Ken?  Anyone?

The hotel was great and the competition room was spacious.  Unlike years past the mounts didn't seem to be cluttered and there was plenty of room to walk up and down the rows of beautiful pieces.  Job well done for sure.  Dan

I asked at the registration desk about the mount's and I can't remember the exact # it was like 530 something I believe, and there were only two banquet tickets left when I was up there.

When I checked my mounts in I was 279 and 280 and at that time they were expecting around 475.  Hope someone has the official numbers.  Dan

The show will be hard to beat by anybody including Larry & Kathy themselves!!   Probably one of the TOP Taxidermy shows of all time!

BTW, Kerby, you are one of the nicest, humble outstanding Taxidermist I have ever met!  I say this sincerely, you are a HUGE asset to this industry!

I agree 100% Mike.  Kerby's Iguana is still stuck in my head.  Actually I had a customer come in yesterday that liked my gator and I told him if he liked that he'd love Kerby's rock lizard!  LOL  He loved it too Kerby.  That thing was just awesome.  I'm still waiting on the directions how to do that stuff man!  It was great meeting you as well and I enjoyed every bit of it. Let me know if you got those pics.  I have others of you with the blue ribbon and that rock lizard!  LOL  Kerby for being such a big ole boy you sure are a nice guy.  Thank god your on our side!  Dan

I thought the show was great too, and the venue was spectacular. I think getting over 500 mounts in this down economy is fantastic. It seemed there was plenty of room for everything under one roof. I hope Larry and Kathy take a hard look at returning to St Charles in the future. Kerby is a big 'ol boy, and one of the friendliest guys you'll meet. In fact, just about every person I met at the show was REALLY nice. (Even Old Fart Wink) It was my 1st WTC, and no doubt it will not be my last. (Except next time I'll stick around for the wind down party!)

This will be the one show everyone will talk about for years. I have never been to a better Facility and everything went very smooth. It was a thrill to meet many of you but 5 days with little sleep took a toll on my body, I'm just starting to recover. I can't wait for the next WTC.
