I have read here that some of you who do maceration use plastic bags to hold the skull during the maceration process to insure that small teeth do not get lost.  I have been using 1-gallon zip-loks but have a couple of bear heads that are a bit too large for the gallon size-- AND I have had no success in finding larger bags---

Do any of you know where to get plastic bags LARGER than 1-gallon??
Thanks

I just found some at wallmart the other day, they are large storage bags that are 18 inches by 24 inches. So far I've used these to contain all the extra's while macerating/degreasing and when whitening, instead of wraping the skull in saran wrap I put it in the bag.. works great. The are made by Ziploc and are located with the garbage bags.

Any bear heads I've worked on had teeth big enough that I wasn't going to loose them. I wouldn't worry about something that big. It's smaller stuff like lynx, bobcats etc that have annoyingly small teeth in front. Smiley

I'd just put Mr bear in a bucket sans bag and just be diligent when pouring stuff off later. You shouldn't loose any teeth. Smiley
