Due to the forecast of torrential rains and dangerously high winds, the Delaware Competition scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled.  (We were scheduled to be in a walled tent that the vendor refuses to set up with those weather condiditons.)  No makepu date has been set yet and will be posted when reached.

RDA, i dont think their association has the numbers or income to go that route from what i remember george typing before, plus they have it in conjunction with another outdoor expo or something, that sucks for sure george, but i am sure you will get it in sooner or later.

LMAO Brian.  If you were to find a room around here with NASCAR coming to town in a few weeks, you'd really be a winner, and if you found one in Greenwood, you'd be Houdini.  We're in Slower Delaware and with only 11 members this year which is about 1/6th of the total licensed taxidermists in the state, we're lucky to piggyback with anyone.

11 members for real?  Wow, I know that state is small but I know they have more than 11 taxidermist in the state.  Heck the 11 members about make up the board?  If I can afford to come George let me know when the show is going to rescheduled for and I'll try to come.  I think you all would take in and welcome as many people as possible for sure.  It would be nice to be a part of that show with others here and end up giving them the biggest turnout they've ever had.  I had no idea there was a state with such a low turn out.  Good luck with the show details for sure.  Hope you all figure out a solution for the reschedule.  Dan

Guys, we aren't looking for sympathy.  We advertise the shows and we get people from New Jersey, PA, Maryland and Virginia at times.  Delaware is used to the "small" concept of business in lots of things.  The state could probably be swallowed by counties in some of your bigger states, but you end up with bigger problems that we do.  The northern third of the state has just about enough houses that lawnmowers tend to be pruning shears.  An urbanized state like that doesn't have the numbers of hunters and when you can only offer waterfowl, a few turkeys, northern tier deer, poor fresh water and tepid saltwater fisheries, you just learn to live with what you have.  We're an NTA affiliate state  and we have 11 members this year.  Last I looked, New Mexico has about 25 and you could put nearly 100 Delaware's inside a state that has mule deer, pronghorn, bear, lions, turkeys, even oryx.  Location, location, location.

To give you some idea, Ken Walker came here and donated a 3 day seminar trying to raise funds for our association a few years back.  He mounted a grizzly on a hand carved form.  We had THREE PEOPLE other than myself.  We charged $50 for the seminar and I donated snack trays for lunch every day with sodas, water and coffee.  I advertised it ON THIS SITE.  It was open to ANYONE and I got 3 people.  As I said, I live in a world some of you guys don't have a clue about.
