Do or Do Not.... There is no try

About 1 month ago I went to check on some skulls & when I opened the top I was hit by what seemed like hundreds of blow flies. There were so many that it took days for them to all get out. i put in a fly strip & that got some of them but the others just took me checking it 2-3 times a day to release them. I'm not sure how they got in unless they had laid larvae in some skulls i was drying before going into the colony. Anyway now i have almost no activity. I don't see mites or ham beetles & there are some dermestids there but very few. Should I wipe it out & start over? I have read that flies carry mites but I don't see any. Any Ideas?HuhHuhHuhHuh
Thanks

Take skulls out and refreeze.  I use and old fridge to dry skulls they stay cold and bug free and I use a light socket to plug adapter to run a small fan in fridge , you can get the adapter at Loews or Home depot. Let the colony sit empty for 7 to 10 days with the lid cracked the flies will evacuate since no food. Mist with water in a few days to see how active they are.

I got the flies out but there are very few beetles. It did take about a week to get them all out. Very little activity almost no existent.

I'm not sure of this but I have flies in my colony from time to time and I wondered if the flies can lay eggs that can fall through the screen on top of the enclosure. Because I've seen what looks like fly eggs on the outside of the screen itself.
