Mold on pelts in pickle
«

Just notice some mold on a pelt that has been in pickle for 2-3 weeks. Checked the PH and was 6 How can I get the pickle down to 2 again.
Add Salt or oxalic acid? Thinks it acid but will wait for an answer. If so how much?
How often should the PH be tested?

If your Ph was 6 are you sure the skin is any good?Bacteria start to develope when the ph is just above 2.I check the ph of all my solutions every 3-4 days.I would add enough acid to get your ph back down below 2,and you can never have enough salt in the pickle so i would add more af that as well.
