I am trying to figure out what to use to preserve an armadillo shell. It was reccommended that I use Borax, but I am not sure how to go about doing so or if that was the best thing to use. I figured I would see if anyone had any ideas or suggestions. Thank you for your time and consideration!

I haven't done one yet but what you would do would be to remove the shell and get off all flesh and bits attached to it. While still fresh, rub Borax all into the flesh side and get it into all the nooks and crannies. Position it as you like and let it dry.

rmp, try not to post all in caps .. it's very hard to read. The posters question was to preserve the outer shell, not mount the whole animal.

If you dont have time to do it right the first time when are you going to find time to do it over?

Yep. DP is generally borax though some commercial types have a few other things added. Works the same for just preserving snake skins and some really small hides that you just want to lay out flat and keep to look at without tanning.
