Synthetic Fire?
«
on:

I serached for this on these forums, but could not find anything. Anyone know of a good way to make synthetic fire/flames for a base/habitat? I was thinking an installation of fiber-optics might make good brush-fire embers, but just curious if anyone's done this before or knows of a good way to achieve the effect.
Thanks!

I think I remember seeing one done by someone here ........ I don't remember who or what animal but, in the back of the pedestal mount was an hollowed out rock cave with Indian cave drawings and a synthetic fire. Sorry wish I could have been more help. It's in here somewhere lol.

Get some of that plexi-glass at the hardware store, the kind used in flourescent light fixtures. I think its called "cracked ice". Bust off different sizes with a pair of plyers. Use a heat gone on high to melt and form the pieces into desired shapes, with two pairs of plyers. Grind the knurling off the teeth of the plyers so they don't leave an impression in the hot plastic
After you have all the pieces you need, super glue them into the desired shape of a fire. Finish by coating with tinted resin for the desired color.Let me know how this works out.............John

get a lightbulb, a small fan and then cut some strips of orange + red cloth or something like it tie that to the fan cover the area around it with rocks.
