Bobbi, are we now accounted for on donations?

Since we are doing this as a "Build As We Go", I think from this point on that ALL money coming in, or going out should pass through your hands and book keeping.

Would you give us a total in the account if everything has indeed been accounted for?

I have to reiterate here, we have had two weeks lapse without any effective solution for closure.  Granted, we are a loosely assembled group of informal people, but we still need some rules on proper behavior.

This is in regards to our effort to provide advanced learning instruction for selected taxidermists.  Part of a pm body from Bobbi is quoted below.

“Bill and I have talked, and since he is booked up this season, we thought it would be best to get together sometime next spring.  Bill is worried that now the deer are getting hard antlered that getting into the pen with them could possibly be risky for me and he wouldn't want to see me get hurt.

If the other two candidates would want to go ahead this fall, they can take the first scholarship if it would work out for them.

I'm not sure who either one of them would like to have as a teacher, or if that teacher would even be available.
Let me know!!”

NOW, how about some help and suggestion getting this one back on track?

Bobbi is still going to be our treasurer for the scholarship fund.  I have kept everything public knowledge as far as anything pertaining to the auctions.  I do not want this program being back burnered.  As soon as funds are available, I want us to be sending someone off to deer camp.  I don’t want to be starting another auction to raise money while we already have the money in place and ready to go to work.

Todd B is the next in line, and he had decided on Yox for an instructor.

Let’s hear thoughts from others on this subject and make something happen.

I am still in a rehab facility and working with a borrowed computer that I can't keep a connection with.  If I don't give a prompt response, the lack of connection will most likely be the cause.

This has been bothering me and it is past time to get this problem resolved.  Bobbi is not taking the first session, due to a couple of variables.  One variable is that Bill’s booking for classes is full.  All well and good, but we have a number of people that can teach “proper” techniques in detail.

Now, here is the problem from my view point.  Bill won the bid on the wholesale hog mounting, and this was going to be a simple thing of taking the mounting job in lieu of money.  How do we handle this?  Does this get left on the back burner until next year?  Forget about this one all together and proceed as normal?  The actual monies received so far has been ear marked for Bobbi, what do we do,  have the money available for the next person in line, or save it for next year?  Talk to me, I’m all ears.  If you folks want me to continue orchestrating this affair, just say so and I will take it from there.

Glen...dont you think we will always have a problem of booking dates? I think we should go on with the next auction after funds are available for the first student. Do we have more than john & Bill available as instructors? This has been your baby from the start, youre doing a good job at it.

Since this money was originally raised for Bobbi, I think it should be set aside for her even if it is next year before she can use it. If there is enough for her, set it aside, then go on to the next one.

glen so far I have a total of 462.00. The first two items that were auctioned off I have not received the funds for. The helping hands hangers, or mule deer form I believe?
Since Bill bought the hog form thats $350.00 that I won't receive since that is part of his school cost.
I think alot of the decision will depend on the schedules of the teachers. If we can just have a continuous auction and when the time gets closer to actually schedule the plane tickets and hotel/bed and breakfast it will be easier to figure the costs. Since I know it will probably be sometime next spring, but not a set date for sure, it's hard to figure up the costs for airfare.
Perhaps work to $1,000 for each student, then move to the next one. If there were funds left over from the first student, they can be returned to the fund for student #2?

This is probably the most ethical approach for us to take.  How about we handle the situation this way, unless there is a legitimate objection from someone.
All auction money raised to date goes into "Bobbi's Account" for use at a later date.  This includes money not yet received from two auctions, and the hog mounting.  Once collections are made, she can then inform us.

after the money is collected for my training, do you still want me to handle the money for the next candidate or do you want them to handle the money for their training?

IMO another item of concern is the travel expense. People will require varying amounts. Its a number thats hard to get a handle on & the way its set up now one person might require hundreds more than another. Since the recipients know well in advance they are going I think they should be responsible for their own travel arrangements & expense. Or if we do want to help with travel, how about a set allowance for each recipient such as 200-300 dollars? This way we know when one auction is over & the next one starts.
How do others feel about this???

Tazz had brought this same subject up early on.  Just vote on what YOU would like to see that would be in everyones' best interest.  For you bashful people, no one will know who voted for what, this is a case of  needing your opinion.
