Do they have like sandy bottoms with rocks or is it like all rock. I fish in a big creek with what looks to be sandy but needed some experts opinions.

By me in NW Illinois, the same creek over a stretch of 1/2 mile will have rocky rubble bottom, sandy bottom, and clay bottom, some times mixed , most often sandy/clay., paul

here the bottom changes ever 100 yards from sand, rocks, mud, silt, or any combonation of the 4

My area the spring creeks are mostly gravel bottom but as you get into the swaps in the big valley they turn to silt.
