Goldeneye question?

Here's a pic of a Goldeneye...(Hopefully, it shows up)  I used a Joe F. head and I couldn't get the white patch to line up right...The lower mandible wants to cut into the white patch...Checking reference pics, it appears the skin goes over the lower mandible, or it shouldn't go out so far like on the Joe F. head...Did I screw up, or is there a discrepancy in that paticualar mold?  Thanks for your help!

I would say that if both sides are the same as the side I can see , than it is genetic trait in the bird.

Rick, Goldeneyes some times end up that way especially on the Barrow's.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, if the head fit good and the skin fit the head normally then that is just where the color lies.
By the way I might get to met you in December for that special seaduck hunt your coming on?
