Really like the Thomas Moran...some of his work reminds me of the picture plates that you would find in the old bibles.

took a look at your website....love the drawings..especially the portraits. People are VERY hard to draw and make them look human. I especially think the hands are the most difficult part of the human anatomy to accurately depict.
Very nice work!!

brrrrr....yup that looks cold..... very nice work ..... will you be adding a mountain goat or ram? or just sticking to the scenery? either way it's a cool piece.

Thanks!
I actually toyed with the idea of adding some sort of animal, if for no other reason than to show the scale of the peak. I would prefer to paint in a North American goat or ram like you suggested but it wouldn't be "correct" for the scene as the reference photos are of the Mont Blanc range in the French Alps. I just love the sharp jagged peaks in that particular range. Smiley

My main objective in this painting is to capture that blue "glow" in the shaded areas.

i love that blue glow in the shadows.  like a crow's feathers, or really blackety black-black places- you can always see a hint of blue for some reason.  blue always goes with black.  Smiley
