I learned how to remove the wing bones at school this year and use a wire harness on each wing until it had dried and set really seemed to lighten the wings to me but we did it on upland bird not sure if it will work on large wings but it sure made wing positioning a breeze.  You build your hanresses from wire and put them into what ever position you want and let them dry.  when they are done you remove the hanesses and they are locked there.

Ron probably knows what I am talking about but it is hard to explain.  I will have to try it later this fall after I knock some down and see if I can make it work.

To remove the tendons how?  Just slit above and below the joints and pull out then scupal the slits?

Thanks again

Jeff

Excellent looking bird!  It's just so amazing how generous people like Eugene and many others are on this forum.  It's just very encouraging to see such talented and innovative people take the time to show us how they do things, for free I might add!!

Thank you Eugene. On some birds, it's hard to know if everything is cleaned out of them. This way, there is no doubt. Even the sinuses are easier to clean. And, of course, ALL the beak detail is still there.

Beautiful job, not to mention the early season challenge of it all.
