I think these youth hunts are a great way to introduce the kids to hunting. They shouldn't have to compete with adults for their first few years. Also, they don't have to wear the fancy, cold weather hunting gear. I hear complaints from adults (mainly old-timers) that the one day youth hunt drives all the ducks out of the country before the regular opener. Well, if you're a taxidermist, some of the kids in the above pictures (and many more just like them) just might be future customers.

That, and well, those complainers can't be much for hunters. Roll Eyes I guess, I would rather see any kids shoot more ducks than me.

Easton, don't get me started on the ND and SD resident openers. Lips Sealed

Steve I'm with you!! the youth hunt is so nice it gives me a chance to run my boat in our WMA's before the opener and to watch the kids shoot holes in the sky is priceless!!!! we get our complainers here too. so Utah has moved the youth weekend two weeks before the opener. this should give the birds time to settle down. we took four boys out and all of them went through 4 boxes to get there limit. it was fun to sit back and take pictures.

I can't wait till Wednesday. Our season opens at 6:45am... some woodies are going to meet some steel.

Our season closes Saturday, but comes back later in the year. We finished brushing a blind today.

I am taking off of work for this...all four days...lol

so excited.

Last day of the Texas teal season.  52 birds before sunrise.

9 hunts 216 birds.  Not hard when you are getting flocks like this.
