Had a "Devil" of a time on Vet's day on the big lake with my best buddy!  First time ever hunting out of a boat for me in N.D.  Pretty much frowned upon in my area, but I gotta tell ya, we had a blast.  Highlights include my first ever Common Goldeneye...(I've shot  lot's of Barrow's...go figure) and the first Buffleheads that I've shot in a long time...They are going on the wall.

love to see the birds and am a fanatic about waterfowl but nothing can ever top the memories and smiles on those faces enjoy it while you can and never take it for granted, congrats on your first ever common goldeneye too. here are me and best hunting buddy during our early teal, he sat still and quiet for almost half an hour while the bluewing swam in our decoys about 15 feet away waiting for legal shooting time, now it is to cold here t take him out anymore this year.

yes that is a crow, was dumb enough to fly right over our heads

Those pics of the boys, Rick and Mark,  is the best thing ever.  What a blessing to teach your little ones about the great outdoors.  If more parents spent that type of quality of time with there kids it would be a different world we live in.  Good job fellas.

A great day on Lake Michigan with my good buddy Mike Orthorber.  10 oldsquaws, sorry ,long-tails.  If you get a chance, you got to try hunting out of a layout boat.  An experience you won't forget.

thanks everyone, i agree about spending time with them when they are that young, that was his first time ever getting to go out and he was a little grumpy untill birds started flying and then his whole attitude changed we even let him shoot them when they were kicking on the water, he still believes he shot all of the birds it was great in the top 5 best days of my life. will mount that bluewing for him and hang it in his room.

Here is my harvest from today, with my dog (Gunner), my buddy didn't shoot any, but he went deer hunting this afternoon, and got him a very nice Nine.
I am very happy for him, I got him started hunting last year.

the crow was the last thing to get shot and Gunner didn't want to pick him up cause he probably hasn't smelled anything like it. But I told him to fetch it up, and he brought it to me. Cheesy I am so proud of my dog, this is his second season, and hopefully many more. He is 21 months old. love him to death.
