Patrick J,
Let me tell you what was there that you may have missed. 20 plus vendors that supply the taxidermy industry including those that you probably went to purchase some "cheap" forms from. Six fine artists including a World champion carver,Jerry Simchuk, one of the finest flat artists around, Cynthie Fisher and winner of the Best in Show for the Heritage Art Show in 2007, Christie Daniels. 8 excellent seminars, most of which were given by World , National, or North American Champions. Four judges ,all World Champions and /or North American Champions. The largest collection of trophy Mule deer from Montana ever to be displayed, MT. FWP laser Shooting System, One of the most known and respected falconers in the country, Kate Davis, from Raptors of the Rockies, gave a live raptor presentation with five different birds, there was a Saturday afternoon auction with art, hunting and fishing trips, and more. Maybe I should mention close to 100 competitor entries. This is the finest taxidermy convention in the Northwest and possibly the West.Your lack of participation may have given you the idea that "you didn't miss much" or "there really wasn't much there" I would have to ask you if you are a member of the MTA and if you are ,thank you for your support, if you are not then you should look at what the MTA does throughout the year, other than this great show, and join. Respectfully, Dale Manning

Didn't mean to step on your toes Dale. I had friends that were vendors there and Kate Davis is a VERY good friend of mine. Maybe you just read my post wrong.....It seems like that happens a lot.

Sorry about that Patrick, my bad.  i must have read your post wrong also because I got the same feeling that Dale got. What Dale forgot to mention was that the reason it is the finest taxidermy convention is because of the memebers. I am not a Montana resident and even I can see it.

Well it was my first show and we had a blast.Everything from the seminars to the people putting it on were enjoyable. The hospitality was un-real no mattter the peoples skill level,I think everyone felt welcome. Then the awards banquet I thought was very smooth and the food was excellent. My wife didn't think there would have be much there for her to do before we went, but afterwards she said she had a good time.I also thought the fox mount was nice,LOL,Were going to try and make it back for next year, only with more animals
