Reading original post he stated a "few days". That's a no brainer and customer needed to be educated to the process and sold differently. Basic business...sell your service. Simmering yes, but not for 40.00 or in that short of a time frame. It was posted later to "beetle clean only" for 40.00 or did I read this thread incorrectly?? I would beetle clean ONLY all day was my response.....
No degreasing, no whitening, no sealing...how easy is that?? Lot of work?? Not in my book.

How much they want for there bison heads, I would like to try one out, my bugs can handle it. It should fit into one of the tanks I use to hold my degreasing buckets. Would have to make a paste for whitening.

It was a very bad hunting season locally last year. Some blamed it on the wolves....
Incoming via UPS & FED-X was mainly antelope and bears but was the first spring that beetle food was dwindling at the pace my colony consumes. I did clean a LOT of Bison last year and currently have my largest freezer full to fill in the gaps in finances later. I charge 100.00 each if in multiples or singles for 135.00. That few thousand bucks came in handy last year and my colony and I ate well

He wanted the works, full head to whitened trophy in a few days. That would be down to slave wages by the time it was done and tie up my colony for too long. I had a die-off from an unexpected cold snap before the colony came inside, no way I could even get it through the bugs in that time. Deer is taking over a week unfortunately, but they're breeding like crazy fortunately.
I'm going to try and pick up a few for the lean times, would beat feeding them prairie dogs.

OK....assuming it is your first Bison to prep....1 hour to skin, remove lower jaw and flush brains. Double bag and place in a hot spot to remove sheaths, take out of bags in 48 hours and hose with hot water, dry and into beetles or freeze first depending on your environment. Let the beetles do their thing and IF your colony is large enough to handle a bison remove it in 48 hours and hose or soak with HOT water. DONE....cash, check or charge sir??
$40.00 sounds good to me....
How much do you make an hour at your day job??
If I break it down, about $200-$600/hour. Sometimes more depending on the deal. Very boom and bust right now though. All the down time kills my actual average, so I choose to ignore them and just think about actual work time and try to keep the lights on.

Hehehe, ya. If I had 40 hours a week of actual work I'd be a happy guy. The life of a realtor. Sitting in the office is $0, no hourly wage, and that can go for weeks. The skulls are a hobby and hopefully fill in during the lean times, which have started and won't let up until spring. If I can make a couple thousand and keep the bugs fed, I'll be content. If I did the same and made $60k, I'd be much happier
