Here I have a Snail-eating or Lalande's Coua (Coua delalandei) from islets off Madagascar, extinct since 1837, only 14 specimens known - beat that!
The specimen depicted is from the Stuttgart Museum of Natural History and currently on show at Karlsruhe's Madagascar exhibition, and reputedly is the last ever known specimen having come to sight (or gun...)

Should anyone of you have a 15th hitherto unknown specimen to offer, please don't hesitate  Grin

Francois
I had no idea that you were this quality of taxidermist.  I just found this thread and all your work is truly amazing, as some of the other work.  As RDA said, I see why you guys have to re-mount your birds, there can't be anything alive left in Europe and now I see you guys are headed down to Australia to clean that country out.  You guys must really believe in
Our laws don't let us have ANY of the things I've seen on this thread, but therefore we do have a lot of wildlife left.  Sometimes a surplus, but mother nature will take care of that.

How do I post a picture of my "rare" bird?  By US Federal regulations it is "rare & endangered" and is fully protected.

Thanks Bob for your words. But for us in the Netherlands was it very easy to get birds. There was a very big import from birds. Also very intersting birds like parrots, hornbills, toecans, etc. Since 2007 there is no import because of birdflue , so now we have to deal with our stock from the past. And ofcourse there are many breeders in this country with very special birds, so with the wright contacts , there is still something to do for us.

Bob, after you type your info, go to Additional Options on the bottom.  Click browse and find your photo.  Click on the photo and it will post.  That being said, the photo has to be less than 128kB to fit.  You may have to reduce the size of your photo to get there.  Right click on the photo and it will tell you how big it is. If you have any photo or publishing software on your computer you just need to find the change image size command under edit photo.  It will usually tell you the dimensions of the photo as it is, then you take it down to 3 or 4 inches on the long axis and it should get small enough to post.  If it gets frustrating, just email the picture to me and I will post it for you.
