I want to attach a bunch of pine needles to an artificial rock (foam covered with a plaster mixture).  What is the best medium to use?  Plain glue, spray on adhesive, or what?  I should add that I'm going to have them laying flat, not sticking up and that I'm assuming I can use real pine needles rather than artificial ones.   Let me know if I'm wrong in any of this.

I would soak them in a 50/50 mix of white glue and water and then place them where you want them. It wont seem like it is working or sticking at all, but leave them alone until it is all the way dry and they will be very securely attached. It can take half a day or even longer but it works well and you wont see any trace of the glue when its dry.

Ive had good luck with using clear satin gloss paint sprayed right on top of them. A couple light coats allowing it to dry between coats.

Thanks.  I was thinking of doing the glue thing and you confirmed it.  D. Davis, that's my name too.  Maybe we're related.
