Here is a Channel cat we got out of lake winnibago in wisconsin.
Beautiful fish
a fat female.
Its colors where very gold but it was not an albino fish. the water is very muddy and we tend to get light colored fish.

Here's a albino catfish I just finished. THIS IS THE LAST SKIN MOUNT CATFISH I WILL EVER DO! I seem to forget how much a pain in the ass they are if I don't do one for a while! A repro would have better detail and rib markings.

Where I have trouble is getting a perfectly smooth skin on the carved body. It seems like no matter what I do I end up with dimples etc. I don't have this problem with trout skins. Painting them however is pretty easy IMHO. No problems skinning out the head as I cast them.
Here is a replica channel I painted:

All the reference albino cat pics (including the ones you sent me) I looked like they did not have pink eyes.

I must be blind. I don't see any pink in the photo and the pupil looks black. I believe you though and probably the photo doesn't catch it.
That said it wouldn't surprise me if these fish were not trully "albinos" from what I know about marketing fish. Lots of hype in this market. Could be just a genetic mutation that has been propogated like West Virgina Golden trout or a l ack of pigment that has been bread to run continuously.
